Violin makers

Parmaviolins is a community of makers born to impart a contemporary momentum to the Parma lutherie.

Home to the first Italian school founded by Gaetano and Pietro Sgarabotto in 1929, Parma celebrated fifty years of uninterrupted activity in 2025, following its refoundation in 1975 by Renato Scrollavezza.

At a crossroads that blends experiences from Emilia and Lombardy, from Giovanni Battista Guadagnini to the present day, dedication to classical violin making has been combining with a nonconformist and irreverent approach which flourish again every day in new models, shapes and new sounds.
